Anthem

Who Johnny Anthem becomes

Anthem is the man Johnny Anthem becomes. The name is the same one he earned singing the national anthem in a prison during the Second Civil War. The man wearing it has changed.

His hair has grown into black dreadlocks that brush his shoulders, and his brown eyes blaze blue with nanites. Here he wears a stars-and-stripes zip jacket with harness straps and carries a sword and a chrome shield.

“Brown eyes blazing blue with nanites. A torso forged beyond what I remembered. Who was I now?”— Johnny, Divine Rift, Volume 1
