Kate

Owner and bartender, Kate’s Pub

Kate runs the bar at Kate’s Pub, half-lit neon over cracked concrete in the alley. Johnny calls it a therapist’s office with no coats and no waiting room.

She and Sammy were married once and divorced longer, and she still can’t quite give up on him. Tough and dry, she keeps his picture on the dartboard.
